According to a battlefield scenario assessment released by Sajid Nadeem on the independent analysis channel My Views On News, fierce military conflicts between Tigray forces and the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) have intensified across three major fronts in the Tigray region. Recent ground offensives along vital supply routes and unconfirmed reports of foreign fighter jets entering local airspace are highlighted in the updates.

Reports of Unverified Jet Activity Over Mekelle

Fighter jets were seen flying above Mekelle, the capital of the Tigray region, and a number of other adjacent cities early in the day, sparking tensions.

According to early local reports, Eritrean air force aircraft had illegally entered Ethiopian airspace before being stopped and driven away by ENDF combat aircraft in response. However, these claims are questioned by independent military evaluations. The aircraft are identified by available photos and video as Su-27 or Su-30 multirole fighters, which are only used by the Ethiopian Air Force and not Eritrea.

Military analysts warn that accusations of Eritrean aircraft involvement are still unconfirmed and lack tangible evidence, despite reports suggesting the jets may have flown along lines that originated around Shire and Axum toward Mekelle.

Three Current Battlefronts Described

Three major areas in central and northern Tigray have seen ground hostilities:

1. The Front of Dabbat

According to reports, ENDF positions along the vital Shire–Dabbat route, which links Wolkait to Shire via Mahansi, May, and the Tekeze River bridge, were the target of coordinated attacks by Tigrayan troops in western/central Tigray. According to reports, Tigrayan troops took control of important portions of this crucial transportation route during the conflict, but it is still unclear if they will hold these positions in the long run.

2. The Front of Seimima

In the area of Seimima, which is situated close to the Eritrean border along a secondary important road that connects Salagala and Shire, heavy fighting has returned. Tigrayan forces conducted counterattacks against the town's outskirts and the northern approaches to Shire, despite the Ethiopian military regaining control of Seimima the day before. Although the ENDF is still present in Seimima, there are still fierce fights going on around its perimeter, according to ground intelligence.

3. The Fronts of Adigrat and Damu

Combat moved toward Debre Damo, which is home to a historic, high-altitude Orthodox monastery close to the Eritrean border, after federal forces recently captured Bizet and Bizut along the Adigrat–Adwa axis.

According to reports, injured federal soldiers were transported to military installations in nearby Inicho after Tigrayan forces claimed to have severely damaged ENDF units during fighting in Damu. Additionally, unverified reports suggest that Tigrayans may be moving close to Ozen and Aheferom, which, if fully secured, might threaten ENDF deployments in the area with encirclement.
